Duct Cleaning

Why Duct Cleaning is important

Duct cleaning plays a crucial role in maintaining indoor air quality and ensuring the efficient operation of HVAC systems. Over time, dust, dirt, allergens, and other contaminants accumulate within air ducts, leading to poor air circulation and potential health hazards. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), indoor air can be 2-5 times more polluted than outdoor air, making regular duct cleaning essential for reducing indoor air pollution. Additionally, dirty ducts can decrease HVAC system efficiency by up to 20%, resulting in higher energy bills. By investing in duct cleaning, homeowners and businesses can improve air quality, enhance system performance, and create healthier living and working environments.

How do I know if I need my ducts cleaned?

We understand that not every home needs duct cleaning; in fact, there are times we advise people not to spend the money on it. However, certain indicators suggest it might be time for a thorough duct cleaning. Here are the main reasons for cleaning

Dust around duct vents

If you notice a buildup of dust or debris around your vents, its worth having us put our live feed camera in the vents and see just how dirty they are.

Respiratory Issues

If you experience unexplained respiratory issues or allergies, or detect musty odors coming from your HVAC system, these are red flags indicating potential contamination in your ductwork.

Recent Renovations

Additionally, if you've recently completed home renovations that involved construction while the AC system was running, scheduling a duct inspection is a good idea.

New Construction

Most people think of duct cleaning for nasty older houses that had poor maintenance. But we have found that new construction AC contractors don't clean up the system after the construction crew has finished cutting, drywall sanding, painting etc and for the first few years of life in the home it could make things quite dusty.

After an infestation

The carcasses of certain insects can product carcinogens, and very often these dead bugs can be found within the air duct system. Additionally, if your property was fumigated with poisons, you way want to have your whole system cleaned.

Whether you can relate to some of these, or whether you just want the peace of mind, schedule a time for us to come do a free video inspection of your ducts.

Our Duct Cleaning Process

Step 1 - Clean Air Handler

Address any cleaning needed in the air handler first then work outwards to the duct system from there.

Step 2 -Remove all vents and grills.

The vents are placed in buckets of soapy solution to loosen dust or dirty.

Step 3 -Remove Debris vent by vent.

Using our powerful triple motor, HEPA Certified vacuum, we simply connect a plexiglass cover over the duct opening, turn on the vacuum and begin cleaning.

Note: We do not use a rotor brush to agitate the debris because they have a tendency to puncture the walls of the duct and create air leaks. This is important when you consider who to hire. Especially in Florida, because building code only calls for very thin material which degrades with age, making it more brittle.

Step 4 -Insert hose with airball

We use a powerful compressor to connect what's called an airball to the end of a rubber hose. The holes in the airball are aimed backwards so that when we draw it back from maximum depth, it acts as a broom pulling the debris toward its demise in the HEPA Vacuum.

Step 5- Repeat steps 4-5 on all air returns

Step 6 -Wipe all vent covers dry

We do our best to get them clean but sometimes they don't return to pure white. We offer to paint them prior to re-mounting them for an additional fee.

Step 7- Pack tools and clean up

We do our best to clean up but we like to warn all customers that there will likely be a layer a dust that settles in the home after we leave due to the nature of the work.

Precision and Expertise

Our certified technicians bring a wealth of experience and precision to every duct cleaning project. Using advanced tools and techniques, we meticulously remove dust, dirt, mold, and other pollutants from your ductwork, leaving you with clean and fresh air.
